The forum, organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Shipowners’ Association and supported by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and Invest Cyprus, aims to highlight the island’s attractiveness as a global business and investment destination.

Among the speakers at the event are Ministers George Papanastasiou (Energy, Trade and Industry), Nicodemos Damianou (Research, Innovation and Digital Policy), and Marina Hadjimanolis (Shipping).

The speakers are expected to emphasize Cyprus’ strategic geographical location, its favorable business environment, and its increasing prominence in key sectors including energy, shipping, financial services, and technology.

A statement released on Friday noted that “recent improvements in credit ratings have bolstered investor confidence in Cyprus, underscoring the nation’s stable and competitive economic landscape.”

The statement further added that “the government’s commitment to sustainable growth, fiscal responsibility, and ongoing reforms has further enhanced its international reputation.”

Furthermore, the forum will convene government officials and representatives from the private sector to engage in discussions covering security, energy, technology, banking, and shipping, with a particular emphasis on Cyprus’ role as a strategic gateway connecting Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.

As part of the forum activities, Safe Bulkers—a company listed on the NYSE—will host a special ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange to honor Cypriot businessman Polys Hadjiioannou, who serves as the CEO of Safe Bulkers, Inc.

President Christodoulides will participate in the symbolic ringing of the closing bell at the NYSE, an event that is scheduled to be broadcast live to an estimated global audience of 150 million viewers.
